Legal News: Trademark Board says Mariah Carey is not the sole "Queen of Christmas"

“All I Want for Christmas is You” may be the unofficial anthem of the holiday season, Mariah Carey is not the "Queen of Christmas" – or even the holiday's "princess" – according to the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

The singer filed to trademark the name "Queen of Christmas.” She wanted exclusive use of the name for herself and a range of products, including lotions, perfume, music recordings, human and animal clothing, eyewear, protective face masks, and various kinds of milk.

The trademark board not only rejected Carey's request to exclusively use the title, but also denied her requested trademarks of "Princess Christmas" and "QOC."
